Facebook group poses four demands
A Facebook initiative group strongly condemns the August 31 shameful deal between Azerbaijan and Hungary which resulted in the extradition and pardoning of Azerbaijani axe-killer Ramil Safarov. In a statement issued on Monday, "Campaign against Oligarchy" said the release of the Azeri murdered was predictable and even premeditated, given the hatred towards Armenians consistently spread by Azerbaijani leadership, as well as the glorification of the murderer.
"The turn of events comes to prove once again that Azerbaijan's aggressive posture and state policy are inconsistent with the Karabakh peace process. Moreover, Azerbaijan's bellicose and anti-Armenian policy conflicts with the fundamental principles of international human rights. On the other hand, Hungary's criminal cooperation with Azerbaijan questions the impartiality of the OSCE in the resolution of the Karabakh conflict and the effectiveness of the negotiations," the group said in the statement.
"Campaign against Oligarchy" stresses that in the past two weeks the international community has done nothing except decrying Azerbaijan's decision to release Safarov.
"We have all grounds to assume that the international community is not ready for a clear-cut and adequate response even in such a dangerous moment for Armenia and Artsakh. Under the given circumstances, we can conclude that the OSCE Minsk group's efforts towards the settlement of the Karabakh conflict are doomed to failure and Safarov's release led the failed process to its logical end," the group said urging Armenian authorities
1. to immediately recognize the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and suspend Armenia's engagement in the Minsk Group process
2. to consider the Karabakh conflict already resolved and start international recognition of the NKR independence
3. to involve Diaspora organizations in the process of the NKR recognition by the international community
4. to take measures on the international level for the unification of Armenian and NKR, thereby ensuring the final settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
