A new order of performing autopsies, including compulsory ones, took effect on September 15.

The new order was approved by the government decision of August 23, under which the Government Decision on Approval of the Order of Performing Autopsies of November 6, 2000, lost its validity.

By the new order, in particular, a compulsory autopsy shall be carried out if the patient died in a hospital, except when the family members of the deceased person sign a written refusal not allowing his or her autopsy or when it was the will expressed in writing by the deceased prior to the death.

The family members of the deceased have the right to familiarize themselves with the autopsy conclusion.
