Arthur Abraham congratulates Armenian chess team on victory
Armenian boxer Arthur Abraham, WBO Super Middleweight Champion, extended a congratulatory message to the Armenian national chess team.
"I congratulate our team and the Armenian people on the victory at the World Chess Olympiad in Istanbul. Our heroes proved yet another time that Armenians excel in their logic, prudence, flexible thinking, and ability to react quickly and properly. This is another opportunity for us to be proud of our nation and to boast that our Motherland-Armenia - is a chess superpower. I wish new triumphs to our chess team," he said in the message.
the Armenian chess team was crowned world champion for a third time. In the decisive round on Sunday, Armenian men beat Hungary 2.5-1.5 to gather 19 points in the 11-round competition. Sergei Movsesian secured the crucial victory against Hungary's Zoltan Almasi. Levon Aronian, Vladimir Akopian, and Gabriel Sargissian drew their games.
