Hunger strike till death
It is the 5h day that the daughter of Garegin Nzhdeh's brother, 74-year-old Emma Sahakyan has been on hunger strike near the residence of President Serzh Sargsyan. Prior to that, she held a sit-in for 82 days in the same place.
Emma Sahakyan asks Serzh Sargsyan to restore justice with respect to a woman whose uncle's ideology currently guides the Republican Party led by Serzh Sargsyan. During the 5-day hunger strike, employees of the president's residence (the correspondence unit) have visited Ms. Emma only twice.
"They suggested that I go to old people's home instead of returning my property. They should be ashamed for making this proposal to me," Ms. Emma said.
The staff of the Yerevan Municipality is also informed about Emma Sahakyan's hunger strike. Employees of First Aid visit her daily.
"She has health problems related to blood pressure, her feet are swollen. If things go on like this, dehydration may occur," doctor Harutyun Badalyan said.
Ms. Emma does not pay attention to doctors' advice to end the hunger strike and has no intention of leaving her place at 26, Baghramyan Street. "I will continue my hunger strike till my death," Emma Sahakyan declared.
