Unless there is a rise in salaries by the 2013 state budget, Armenia will not be able to cope with the new challenges caused by inflation, deputy of ARF faction, economist Artsvik Minasyan said.

"Armenian citizens are as poor today as they were previously. In some cases poverty has even grown, as evidenced by official statistics as well," he stated.
In his words, in 2012 the government did nothing to raise somewhat citizens' incomes

Mr. Minasyan expressed concern that all this results in a new economic challenge: a decline in the purchasing capacity. "At this stage of the crisis, people often prefer buying basic commodities rather than luxury items".
It should be reminded that at the last session of the government, the finance minister declared that an unprecedented economic activity has been recorded in the past eight months.
