HAK did not yield its seats to HHK
During the September 9 elections in Armenia's southern city of Kapan (Syunik marz (province), the Armenian National Congress (HAK) has not given and is not going to give its seats in the electoral commission to the representatives of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), Davit Matevosyan, a member of the HAK Central Office, told A1+.
"Can you imagine such a thing? This only refers to seats that HAK has been unable to fill. The district commission has the right to fill the vacancy and we do not care whom they choose. HAK has replenished commissions with its supporters who have licenses," he said.
Davit Matevosyan dismissed allegations that HAK and HHK had formed a coalition in Kapan.
"Nothing of the kind! It concerns Rafik Asryan who withdrew from HAK on the eve of the parliamentary elections. Once, he was a HHK member but I cannot say anything about his current status," he said.
Two candidates are running in the September 9 mayoral elections in Kapan: Artur Atayan from the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun and Ashot Hayrapetyan, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia, Director of the Kapan branch of Haypost CJSC.
