Sharmazanov against anti-Christian acts
The Ethics Committee of Armenia's National Assembly will soon discuss an application-complaint against NA Vice Speaker, RPA deputy Edward Sharmazanov.
"I am surprised that an ordinary opinion I expressed can make such a stir. I said previously and I will say again that I am an Armenian who cherishes Christian values.
I consider acts of violence and propaganda of violence unacceptable, but the propaganda of anti-Christian acts is equally unacceptable. All acts that are against Christian morality, as well as their propaganda are unacceptable to me. And it is ridiculous to speak about violence and to regard my words as calls for violence," RPA spokesman, RA Vice Speaker Edward Sharmazanov said in an interview with A1+.
It should be reminded that in connection with the statements made following the explosion at DIY Club, Public Information and Need of Knowledge NGO (PINK Armenia) filed in early August an application-complaint concerning NA Vice Speaker, RPA deputy Edward Sharmazanov and ARFD deputy Artsvik Minasyan to the NA Ethics Committee and the Ethics Commission for High-Ranking Officials.
"Months ago I wrote a public letter in order to answer reporters' questions, I replied to Mr. Sakunts once so that the public will have no questions... I am prepared to discuss this subject again," Sharmazanov noted during a conversation with A1+. "They have a right to ask questions, and I have the right to express an opinion".
According to the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, theCommittee's sittings are held behind closed doorx, except in cases when the NA deputy indicated in the application suggests holding an open-door sitting.
