Campaign posters of Karen Tumanyan, a mayoral candidate in the Armenian northeastern city of Vanadzor, were torn down on the night of August 26, Tumanyan's campaign headquarters reported.

"On August 26, at around 3:00p.m., an unknown person in a white Niva, apparently in a drunken state, intimidated the meeting participants gathered in the yard of Demirtchyan street, insulted the cameraman, showing contemptuous attitude towards them and took to flight," the headquarters said in a statement.

In the name of supporters of the popular candidate, Karen Tumanyan's headquarters strongly condemns the incident and calls on law enforcement agencies to disclose the perpetrators and executors. At the same time, it calls on local media to observe their ordinary routine and not to yield to incidents incited by wretches.
