Free Democrats: “Armenia is obliged”
Free Democrats Party issues statement
"Staying true to the immunity of independence and sovereignty established by the RA Constitution, carefully assessing the role and place of Armenia in the changing region in the political context that is being renewed, attaching importance to the need of meeting the domestic and foreign challenges facing our country, the Free Democrats Party declares:
In the current political context the Republic of Armenia is obliged to ensure equal relations with other states, international political, economic and security systems, which will contribute to the democratization, economic growth and the rise of the international reputation of our country. In that case Armenia's integration into the European Union may become an invincible obstacle for the liberal development and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia. Attaching great importance to the need of expansion of friendly relations with the Russian Federation, the Free Democrats Party, at the same time fully hopes that those relations won't be harmed within the framework of the artificial and imperially imposed system, but will develop in conditions that will be mutually favorable for both countries.
Currently, the development of Armenia as an independent, liberal and democratic country is the reliable guarantee for stable development of the region. In that context we are certain that the future political and economic development of the Republic of Armenia will only be possible in the case of becoming a full-fledged member of the European family."
