Vartan Oskanian, the founder of the Civilitas Foundation, is disputing the July 23 decision of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts in the Court of Appeals.

In its decision, the Court refused to satisfy Oskanian's appeal demanding that the decision on criminal charges filed by the National Security Service against the Civilitas Foundation be disaffirmed.

"The Court claims that Vartan Oskanian's rights are not violated but does not elaborate. At the same time, the Court did not respond to our arguments," said Tigran Atanesyan, a legal representative of Vartan Oskanian.
In a letter addressed to NSS Chairman Gagik Khachatryan, Salpi Ghazarian, Director of the Civilitas Foundation asked to account for the suspension of financial checkups in the Foundation. The inspections were to finish on August 3 but were suspended for 30 days by a decision of Gagik Khachatryan.
