Unfortunately, we came back to the situation that existed in February-March 2007, Petros Makeyan, Leader of the Democratic Motherland Party, told A1+ while summarizing the four years of activity of the Armenian National Congress (HAK).

HAK was formed on August 1, 2008.
Makeyan says with its formation, the opposition alliance gave positive stimulus to Armenia, but it lasted till spring 2011 when ‘HAK started friendly negotiations with the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and participated in the auction-elections of the National Assembly.'

Petros Makeyan says that HAK has a strong leader but the problem lies in the quality of bloc's actions.

"HAK was able to hold back the government until 2011. Starting last year the authorities untied their hands and if there is something obliging them, it is the 2013 presidential elections," he stressed.

Makeyan says today that opposition alliance does not have hundreds of thousands of supporters that it had during its formation.

The leader of the Democratic Motherland party says in 2013 Levon Ter-Petrosyan should lead people to a definite victory - change of power.
"If we miss the chance, no one will need the Armenia of the present-day quality," he concluded.
