Several deputy ministers and deputy governors of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) have issued a statement announcing their resignations.

"After the May 6 parliamentary elections the BHK decided to abstain from forming a coalition government. Staying committed to the political decision of the party, we announce about our resignation. The only reason for continuing our activity after the elections was that we did not want to frustrate the current programs and bring them to their logical end. We express our gratitude to our ministers and governors for the joint activity and wish them success in the solution of issues pending the country," BHK officials said in the statement.

The statement has been signed by Romik Tigranyan, deputy minister of emergency situations, Ruben Simonyan, deputy minister of territorial administration, Vardan Karapetyan, deputy minister of agriculture, Edik Karakhanyan, deputy governor of Lori province and Manafas Arakelyan, deputy governor of Aragatsotn province.
