Samvel Balasanyan met with Serzh Sargsyan?
According to "A1+"'s sources, deputy leader of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), potential Gyumri mayor candidate Samvel Balasanyan left the presidential residence a while ago. "A1+" wasn't able to confirm this news from the presidential residence of Samvel Balasanyan.
Samvel Balasanyan didn't answer his phone calls and later became unreachable.
We remind that according to sources, Serzh Sargsyan has decided to support deputy leader of the BHK Samvel Balasanyan, not the incumbent mayor Vardan Ghukasyan.
What's interesting is that the BHK still hasn't made an announcement on Samvel Balasanyan's nomination. Members of the BHK weren't aware of Balasanyan's meeting with Serzh Sargsyan either. The BHK's press speaker Tigran Urikhanyan told "A1+" that he was on vacation in Georgia and couldn't have been aware of that. When asked if the BHK had already decided whom it would nominate in the Gyumri mayor elections, the BHK press speaker said he would make an announcement when the BHK makes its decision.
It is known that Samvel Balasanyan has a beer factory in Gyumri and that he has placed a copper statue of him in the yard of that factory. Some say that statue might be displaced and moved to the yard of the municipality, if Balasanyan is elected.
