HAK calls on the authorities
Statement of the Armenian National Congress (HAK)
Today is the day of the subsequent presidential elections in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. We call on the NKR authorities to do everything possible to ensure free, fair and legitimate elections. On the battlefield and in the unequal war with Azerbaijan in diplomacy, the incomparably higher level and vitality of democratic institutions must be one of Nagorno-Karabakh's main resources, which will definitely be noticeable by the international community. The latter's response to the elections will be highly conditioned by the quality of those elections. At the same time, the ones who will mainly demand free and fair elections are the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, the legitimate authorities of which will receive more vigor in advancing Nagorno-Karabakh's state interests in the negotiations process. And finally,
We also call on the Armenian authorities to immediately start consulting with the corresponding departments of friendly countries to ensure the positive stance of particularly the mediating countries for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution, as well as the neighboring, CSTO and EU-member countries regarding the NKR presidential elections.
