The preliminary investigation in the case against Helsinki Association member Arman Veziryan is completed. The case has been sent to court.

"We had two days to appeal the case but we did not manage to do it as everyone, including the investigator, prosecutor and the court, was in a hurry," Nina Karapetyants, a legal representative of Arman Veziryan, told A1+.

The criminal case instituted on April 30 refers to an incident reported during the pre-election period when representatives of the election headquarters of Arshak Banucharyan, a candidate of the Armenian National Congress (HAK), were distributing booklets in Yerevan. In the district of Shengavit, a certain Tigran Manukyan hit Arman Veziryan who was conducting an observation mission in the area. The latter demanded commencing a case for intervening with his work. But later, the observer was charged under Article 118 of the RA Criminal Code.

Arman Veziryan and his lawyer are hopeful that the court will reveal the truth and punish those guilty.
