Armenian Ambassador: “South Caucasus needs donors”
The UN Security Council held an annual debate on post-conflict peace-building
The meeting was attended by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and representatives of over 30 UN member-states who addressed the participants with speeches. Armenian Ambassador to the UN Karen Nazarian was among the attendees.
Referring to the global experience in different parts of the world, Ambassador Nazarian noted that economic cooperation is the most effective means of promoting confidence even in cases when the sides are still negotiating over the conflict.
In his addressing remarks, Ambassador Nazarian noted that the South Caucasus needs support programs of donor countries and international financial institutions in order to enhance lasting peace and sustainable development.
