213,672 passports issued
From 1 January to 12 July 2012, 213,672 passports have been issued for citizens of the Republic of Armenia (in relation to first-time registration, exchange of passports or loss of passport). Nearly 24,000 passports have been issued within the past 10 days, while 182,208 passports of RA citizens were issued within the same period in 2011.
We also inform that starting from 1 June 2012 when the RA laws "On Identification Cards" and "Passport of the RA Citizen" entered into legal force until 9 July 2012, there have been 726 applications for the acquisition of identification cards, and 445 applications for the acquisition of passports containing biometric data, reports the Department for Passports and Visas of the RA Police.
