Police Chief: “Crimes don’t recognize borders”
On July 10, RA Chief of Police, general-lieutenant Vladimir Gasparyan received Minister of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Najjar, who arrived in Armenia yesterday.
Greeting the high-ranking guest, Vladimir Gasparyan highly appreciated the level of cooperation between the police of Armenia and Iran and mentioned the need for further deepening of cooperation, which is in the interests of the two countries and nations.
Mostafa Mohammad Najjar expressed gratitude for the warm reception and mentioned that Iran and Armenia have always been and still are friendly, fraternal countries.
Vladimir Gasparyan reminded that crimes don't recognize borders, highly appreciated the multifaceted and effective activities of the law-enforcement authorities of both countries and mentioned that there was still much to do for the prevention of illegal circulation of narcotics, the treatment of drug addicts, the exchange of experience between law-enforcement authorities and the increase of exchange of information.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest. At the end, the sides signed a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding "On Cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Police of the Republic of Armenia", which will create new opportunities for the already conventional cooperation between Armenian and Iranian law-enforcement authorities.
