Lawsuit against Ruben Hayrapetyan now a proceeding
Upon the decision of the judge of the court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash districts of Yerevan R. Apinyan, the lawsuit of Artur Sakunts against Ruben Hayrapetyan on making the third party (Armenian Public Television) make Hayrapetyan publicly apologize and demanding compensation for hurting honor and dignity, has been accepted as a proceeding.
The ground for the lawsuit was the sport program called "Overtime" aired on Armenian Public Television on 26 May 2012, during which the guest, President of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan had made the following statements: "When I wanted to open a football school in Vanadzor, there were no trees or bushes. I was simply building a school on top of a hill, but for some reason, a bastard from Helsinki with some ambiguous rings appeared and filed a lawsuit against us, the municipality, the decision of the Council of Elders, including the Federation as a third party, the plaintiff. Now, they are receiving the grants from abroad to discredit any nice thing that is done."
In his lawsuit filed on 15 June 2012, the plaintiff's representative Karen Tumanyan mentioned that Ruben Hayrapetyan's statement "a bastard with Helsinki with some ambiguous rings" made during the "Overtime" sports program hurt Artur Sakunts's honor and dignity.
The plaintiff demands that the court make Ruben Hayrapetyan apologize to Artur Sakunts by saying the following: "I, Ruben Hayrapetyan, made improper and offensive statements against President of the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office NGO Artur Sakunts during the "Overtime" program aired on Armenian Public Television on 25 May 2012, for which I beg for pardon". The plaintiff also demands compensation of 10 (ten) drams for Artur Sakunts from Ruben Hayrapetyan.
The trial has been initially set at the court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash districts on July 25, 2012 at 11:00.
