"We don't have any evidence that would prove that Ruben Hayrapetyan participated in or had anything to do with the crime that was committed," said Arsen Ayvazyan.
According to Arsen Ayvazyan, Ruben Hayrapetyan wasn't at Harsnakar Restaurant when the restaurant's employees brutally beat the military doctors on June 17.
"Ruben Hayrapetyan was in Sevan. At around 19:00, he returned to Yerevan, went to Harsnakar Restaurant Complex, stayed there for nearly half an hour and then left for the football academy located nearby. He wasn't at the scene of the crime."
It is known that Ruben Hayrapetyan has in-laws on Chief of the Department of Yerevan Police Nerses Nazaryan's side of the family. Despite that, the Head of the Division for Specially Important Cases of the Chief Investigative Department of the RA Police assures that "there has not been any pressure and there is no pressure on the preliminary investigation body".
As for the restaurant employees that brutally beat the military doctors and led one of the military doctors, Vahe Avetyan to death, according to Arsen Ayvazyan, none of Ruben Hayrapetyan's bodyguards was among those employees. "Some of the security officers have accompanied Ruben Hayrapetyan on some occasions."
According to the charge brought up against the six detainees, they face 5-10 years in prison. However, the preliminary investigation is still underway.
