Sukias Avetisyan becomes National Assembly MP
The Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia convened its regular sitting on July 4. Before proceeding to the meeting agenda, CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan referred to the local government elections due to take place in 17 communities on July 8.
He said that all preparatory work had been done in accordance with the Election Code, with electoral precincts getting ready for the elections.
The CEC also recognized as invalid the registration of Karine Harutyunyan, a deputy candidate included in the proportional ticket of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), in line with her application for withdrawal.
Based on Protocol N3 on suspending deputy powers of Rafik Grigoryan, the CEC drew up a new protocol to hand over the mandate to Sukias Avetisyan, the next candidate on the HHK list.
