The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia has expressed willingness to receive the delegates of a protest action who gathered outside the National Assembly earlier today demanding fair punishment for Ruben Hayrapetyan, the owner of Harsnakar Restaurant.

Aram Manukyan, an MP from the Armenian National Congress (HAK), received a similar proposal during the protest outside the Prosecutor General's Office. Sona Truzyan, a spokesperson for the RA Prosecutor General, says Manukyan turned down the proposal, saying the organizers of the protest did not pursue such a goal.

Aram Manukyan also said that four factions of the National Assembly had requested the NA leadership to organize a meeting with law enforcement agencies in parliament.

A group of activists today gathered in front of the National Assembly demanding involvement of Ruben Hayrapetyan as a suspect in the Harsnakar beating case that resulted in the death of military doctor Vahe Avetyan. Later they headed to the Prosecutor General's Office demanding punishment for all those involved in the June 17 tragic violence at the Harsnakar Restaurant.
