Dozens of people have gathered outside the Armenian National Assembly, shouting "We say ‘no' to criminal morals!" "Nemets [Ruben Hayrapetyan], go away!" "We demand a special session of the National Assembly," and "We say ‘no' to permissiveness!"

The participants of the protest action are standing in the street with police officers forming a live wall and cordon in front of them.

We have gathered here to demand that Ruben Hayrapetryan be subjected to liability. Under the mounting pressure of the public Ruben Hayrapetyan laid down his deputy mandate but it is not enough. Today we plan to march to the Prosecutor General's Office to demand a just punishment for Hayrapetyan," Gevorg Safaryan, a participant of the protest action told A1+.

Ruben Hayrapetyan, an MP of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and President of the Football Federation of Armenia, put down his deputy mandate on Tuesday following the pressure of civic activists and media representatives in connection with the deadly incident at his Harsnakar Restaurant.

In a written statement issued on the same day, Hayrapetyan said he ‘feels moral responsibility' for the death of Vahe Avetyan, one of the three military doctors who were attacked at the restaurant and who died 12 days after the beating without regaining consciousness.
