Bashar Al-Assad agrees to step down, if…
In an interview with the Turkish Cumhurieyet, President of Syria Bashar Al-Assad said he would immediately resign, if he was certain that that decision would be in the country's interests.
"If my resignation will be a salvation for my country, I'll resign immediately," said the Syrian leader.
The President is rest assured that only the Syrian people will determine his fate, not foreign states, particularly the United States which Assad views as an "enemy".
Bashar Al-Assad has stated that the people must take their decision on his resignation only through democratic elections.
