"Process of civil society establishment is seen"
There were flaws in the 2012 parliamentary elections in Armenia, but they were the most invulnerable elections in the history of Armenia, excluding the elections in 1990-91. This was the evaluation given by RA Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan during the third session of the Armenia-EU subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security in Yerevan.
The minister also underlined that we couldn't say that all the issues in this sphere had been solved. His European colleagues and representatives of civil society indicated several problems and said "we still had a lot to do in this sphere".
According to Hrayr Tovmasyan, it is clear to everyone that civil society is establishing itself in Armenia. He noted that five or ten years ago, nobody would believe anyone who said the government could make a change in its decision by taking the public demand into consideration, but now, this is the usual and the developments related to Trchkan Waterfall and Mashtots Park are evidence of that.
