Parliamentary elections in Mongolia
Mongolians are voting for a new parliament.
The polls have been open for 2.8 million voters since this morning, and the official results of the vote will be announced in two weeks.
The main contenders were the two more influential parties, including the People's Party and Democratic Party of Mongolia.
The political platforms of these two political parties are very much similar with points such as purposeful use of coal industry profits, increase in investments and infrastructures and more.
Mongolia's main source of income comes from coal exports. To reduce the country's dependency on coal sales, the competing parties have proposed their versions of diversifying the economy.
