RA Police: “Vardan Ghukasyan’s son has nothing to do with it”
Mayor of Gyumri Vardan Ghukasyan's son has nothing to do with the stabbing that took place in Gyumri on June 23, according to the non-official report of the RA Police. The RA Police press service reports that investigation is underway and it is not up to the police to find out what the stabber had to do with the mayor of Gyumri or his son.
"Our job is to reveal the facts," said representatives of the RA Police Department of News and Public Relations.
According to Mayor of Gyumri Vardan Ghukasyan's press secretary, Lilit Aghekyan, those linking the stabbing of Petros Nazaryan to the mayor of Gyumri want to intensify the situation ahead of the upcoming elections for mayor. "The mayor of Gyumri will run in the elections and will go until the end," said the press secretary. When asked if she suspected mayor contender Martun Grigoryan of this, Lilit Aghekyan said: "You said it, not me."
