Razmik Zohrabyan: "Military doctors were drunk"
Razmik Zohrabyan, Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), thinks military doctor Vahe Avetyan and his friends were beaten at the Harsnakar Restaurant because 'they were drunk.'
"I read in the press that they were a bit drunk," Zohrabyan told a press conference in Yerevan.
Given the incident, the HHK official today advised journalists against drinking too much at restaurants.
"At least, they should avoid drinking the last glass," he said. "After the 4-5 glasses we feel like quarrelling in the public."
Razmik Zohrabyan is confident that his partymate Ruben Hayrapetyan, the owner of the Harsnakar Restaurant, is not to answer for the atrocities committed by his security guards.
"What can the owner do?" he asked.
The HHK official advised journalists to avoid undue conclusions after one of them remarked that it could be Ruben Hayrapetyan who had instructed security guards to beat the military doctors.
To be more concrete the HHK vice-chairman added, "Don't we know that people arrange parties, drink and enjoy themselves at restaurants?"
Asked whether he knew definitely who was responsible for the uncontrollable behavior of the security guards and why they went unpunished, Mr. Zohrabyan said, "We should not blame the incident only on the authorities, the public should also assume responsibility."
The HHK senior official is certain that the culture needs changes; the last glass should not be emptied. At the same time, Razmik Zohrabyan did not rule out that Ruben Hairapetyan's security guards might have been drunk as well.
