One hundred and four MPs are participating in the special session of the Armenian National Assembly (NA). At today's meeting, the NA is expected consider and put to the vote the government program.

Members of the Heritage and Armenian National Congress (HAK) are present at the NA sitting for the first time. NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan welcomed them and said they ought to take an oath in compliance with the NA Rules of Procedure. Mr. Abrahamyan read out the text of the oath, with several MPs of both factions simply nodding their heads.

Armen Rustamyan, an MP of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun, said his party would act in the NA as an opposition. A similar statement was made by Aram Manukyan, Secretary of the HAK faction, who said the HAK would not participate in the discussion of the government program. Ruben Hakobyan, Head of the Heritage faction, said they were against the government program. The other parliamentary groups refrained from making statements.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan congratulated the newly elected MPs and said the purpose of each of them, regardless of their political affiliation, is to implement national programs, develop a more diversified economy and surmount the crisis.
