Action participants discuss Oskanyan's case
Residents left homeless after being thrown out of their homes located at Arami, Buzand and Lalayan Streets today gathered near the government building and discussed the latest events in relation to deputy of Prosperous Armenia Party Vardan Oskanyan.
They say the authorities are doing everything possible to have Serzh Sargsyan remain as the only candidate before the upcoming presidential elections in Armenia.
The residents say anyone can solve their issues besides Serzh Sargsyan.
"We don't care who comes to power, just as long as these authorities step down. They built so many things and laundered so much money. The authorities should catch the money launders within them, not Vardan Oskanyan. Oskanyan probably wants to run in the presidential elections, and that's why they are trying to get rid of Oskanyan so that Serzh Sargsyan can falsify and do whatever he wants, "said former resident of the building located at 9 Buzand Street, Knarik Arakelyan.
Nearly three months ago, the "Protection of Property Rights" NGO had appealed to Yerevan Municipality with the demand for compensation for the homes that were taken away from citizens.
"We have received a response from the Project Implementation Office stating that everything was done by law," said President of the "Protection of Property Rights" NGO Vachagan Hakobyan.
We remind that the residents of Buzand Street have been fighting to restore their violated rights for the past eight and a half years.
