Statement of the "Patriot" organization

National Hero Monte Melkonyan died as a hero on June 12, 1993. Every year this day we pay tribute to our hero with speeches and visits to Yerablur Pantheon. However, remembering the heroes is not only a tribute to their endeavors. It is also a symbol for the next generations. But what is Monte's symbol?

Monte's close friends say Monte was very kind, had great thinking skills and had a talent in the military. Indeed, he is a unique symbol for his wife, family and friends. However, in addition to all this, by becoming a hero, Monte also become part of the nation and embodied the symbol that has been transmitted to the generations throughout millennia by the example of Armenian heroes, and that is to place the interest of the homeland above everything else and sacrifice for the nation...

Throughout his entire life, Monte fought to restore justice for Armenians. He risked his life so that Armenians could reinstate their right to a dignified life in their homeland. Perhaps this is Monte's symbol to our generation, that is, to liberate the seized homeland and build a dignified country.

They say on one occasion, Monte mentioned that he would like for people to respect him not with words, but actions. So, inheritors of your hero, follow Monte's symbol. Stand up for his legacy, that is, the liberated Armenia, and finish what he started.
