Constitutional Court rejects opposition candidate
The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia today upheld the decision of Territorial Election Commission N3, thereby turning down the demand of Manuel Gasparyan, an opposition candidate running in the May 6 parliamentary election under the majoritarian election system.
"Unfortunately, we have to appeal to the European Court," said Arthur Gasparyan, a legal representative of Manuel Gasparyan.
On June 12, the Constitutional Court is due to hear the lawsuit of Levon Zurabyan, another majoritarian candidate of the Armenian National Congress, who is disputing the results of the May 6 ballot.
