Japanese FM invited to Armenia

On June 6, Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with his Japanese counterpart Koichiro Gemba.

The two officials hailed the dialogue between the two countries and considered it symbolic that Serzh Sargsyan's visit to Japan coincided with the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two states.

The Armenian and Japanese FMs dwelt on bilateral relations and discussed prospects for their development. They attached importance to the memorandum on cooperation signed between the two Foreign Ministries, expressing conviction that it will promote closer cooperation and intensify political consultations.

They also discussed issues related to the Korean Peninsula, South Caucasus region and their possible solution. The interlocutors further discussed bilateral cooperation within international organizations.
