Sharmazanov responds to Davutoglu
Vice-Chairman of the RA National Assembly responds to statement of the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs
Last evening Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Davutoglu made a "groundbreaking" statement when he said "it will be possible to establish relations with Armenia after it leaves the occupied territories".
In response, Vice-Chairman of the RA National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov has said the following:
"Turkey persistently continues to overlook its international obligations and distort the reality. This goes to show once again that Turkey can't join the European Union. I would like to inform the leaders of countries west of Armenia and east from Artsakh that yes, there are occupied territories, and it is the Turks and the Azeri that have to leave those occupied territories. I would like to refresh the Turkish Foreign Minister's memory and inform that Turkey has occupied the northern sector of the Republic of Cyprus, which is taking over the presidency of the European Union, and Azerbaijan has occupied Shahumyan, Getashen and Martunashen, which are territories of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic...
I consider Turkey's working style of speaking with requisitions inacceptable and reaffirm that Armenia is determined to achieve the goals of all Armenians."
