Armen Martirosyan expects new developments in summer
Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannisian will be the united candidate of the Armenian opposition during the 2013 presidential elections, says Armen Martirosyan, vice-chairman of the party's newly elected board.
The Heritage representative says Armenia's first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan is no longer the leader of the opposition.
"Levon Ter-Petrosyan was a charismatic figure in 2008. He had a chance but he missed it," he stressed.
The Heritage party has always served the interests of the opposition, and ‘as a representative of the opposition as well as Heritage, I expect our opposition partners to support Heritage during next year's presidential elections.'
Asked about the cooperation between the Heritage and Free Democrats in the new parliament, Armen Martirosyan advised waiting a little.
"Since we are at the threshold of presidential elections, I expect serious developments in summer. The election campaign will start in September," he said.
Mr. Martirosyan also refuted the allegations that his teammates are at loggerheads over mandates.
