Member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) Hrair Karapetyan says Prosperous Armenia Party's (BHK) statement on not joining the coalition didn't come as a surprise to him.

"This was expected because the BHK was acting like an oppositional party during the election campaign. For me, this was a 50/50 decision," said Hrair Karapetyan during a press conference today.

The ARF-D member is certain that the BHK's decision to not join the coalition will definitely have an impact on future developments in the political field.

"It is a very important fact. It will have an impact on the activities of political parties and the upcoming presidential elections," mentioned Hrair Karapetyan.
The ARF-D deputy says the BHK has two options-either it doesn't join the coalition, but supports Serzh Sargsyan, or doesn't join the coalition and doesn't support Serzh Sargsyan.

Touching upon the ARF-D's steps, Hrair Karapetyan mentioned that even though the ARF-D didn't garner many votes during the parliamentary elections, the party will do everything possible to make sure its social and economic programs become a part of the country's state policy.

It is still unclear as to which ARF-D deputies will receive their deputy mandates, but Hrair Karapetyan doesn't rule out seeing another ARF-D supporter join the deputies in parliament. "It doesn't matter which Dashnak will join our faction. Whoever it is, he will do whatever the ARF-D decides," said Hrair Karapetyan.
