Tsarukyan: “BHK won’t join the coalition”
STATEMENT OF LEADER OF PROSPEROUS ARMENIA PARTY (BHK) GAGIK TSARUKYAN
Dear compatriots,
In the 6th congress of the Prosperous Armenia Party, the essence of my speech and the speeches of my partisans was the idea that there is a need for huge reforms in the country and people's lives.
Throughout the election campaign, we made the same statements and presented our political platform. During all my meetings, I have declared that I have no personal interest in politics and that I am ready to suffer losses, but maintain the people's trust in me.
After the parliamentary elections, Prosperous Armenia Party garnered nearly 500,000 votes. Those voters voted for the BHK with belief in us and the demand for real, visible changes in the country's social-economic life.
Based on the results of the elections, the BHK doesn't have the opportunity to form the government and carry out its programs. Based on that, I officially declare that the Prosperous Armenia Party doesn't find it appropriate to join the formation of the coalitional government.
The BHK will continue to play a weighty role in the country's political life. We will play a strictly constructive, balanced role and participate in the country's public and political life.
The BHK will have a very active faction in parliament. I promise that our deputies will always stand by the people's side and will do everything possible to defend our citizens' rights and interests.
I sincerely wish success and efficiency to the new government of Armenia for the benefit of our country and people.
