Sahakyan: “Amount of damage is unclear”
"How can the Republicans be burnt?" this is what Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) Galust Sahakyan said when "A1+" asked whether any Republicans had been burnt during the fire at the HHK building.
The news about the fire at the HHK building quickly spread on Facebook and there are already posts that that was the HHK's punishment for holding such elections.
"Well, they can't keep it inside. They have to express themselves, right? Even if the HHK has 10 enemies, they'll still write," said Sahakyan, adding that the amount of damage remained unclear.
"A1+" asked if the HHK's enemies burned the building. In response, Sahakyan said the HHK didn't have such doubts."It was either due to electricity or the construction going on nearby. The fire simply left the roof burnt," said Sahakyan.
As for the hot topic related to the coalition between the Republican Party of Armenia and Prosperous Armenia Party (HHK-BHK), Galust Sahakyan said "the sooner the political consensus, the better for the country".
However, the BHK's press speaker Baghdasar Mheryan claims that his party isn't even talking about a coalition.
"Where did you get that from? Has anyone told you that there will be a coalition?" said the BHK press speaker in response. When the speaker was told that the BHK hadn't stated that there wouldn't be a coalition and the HHK members say there will be one, the BHK speaker declared:
"Ask the person who said that. I don't claim anything. Nobody has made any official proposal for a coalition," said Mheryan, adding that he doesn't comment what's written in the presses.
