Ruben Torosyan applies to Special Investigation Service
Ruben Torosyan, a member of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK), has issued a statement.
"Ignoring the requirements of Article 65 of the Armenian Constitution and Article 15 of the RA Law on Local Self-government in Yerevan, the Central Election Commission did not give me the mandate of member of the Council of Elders.
"On May 11, 2012, I submitted to the CEC a corresponding application, but the CEC has not replied me to this date, thereby violating Article 27.1 of the Constitution.
"I am sending copies of the statement to the Special Investigation Service and Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe," reads the statement.
The opposition bloc [HAK] earlier relinquished its mandates in the Council of Elders.
