G. Sahakyan likes oligarch's idea to arrange banquet
Armenia-based businessman Samvel Alexanyan is said to be organizing a big party at his "Parvana" restaurant to celebrate his victory in the May 6 parliamentary elections.
Talking to journalists on May 18, Galust Sahakyan, Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), said he liked Alexanyan's decision, which he called a ‘great idea.'
"Let God hear Alexanyan's voice and make the pro-government and opposition forces feast together. Our nation will live in peace then," said Mr. Sahakyan.
The HHK vice-chairman says Samvel Alexanyan has not personally invited him to the banquet. Besides, he does not know whether he will be able to go or not. Galust Sahakyan also found it difficult to say whether Alexanyan's challenger at the single-mandate constituency Nikol Pashinyan would accept the oligarch's invitation or not.
"I do not know which meals Pashinyan likes or dislikes, whether he dances or not," said Mr. Sahakyan.
HHK candidate Samvel Alexanyan beat his challenger Nikol Pashinyan from the Armenian National Congress (HAK) in Yerevan's Percinct 7 during the May 6 elections.
