Tigran Karapetyan says he needs good rest
No elections took place in Armenia on May 6, says Leader of the People's Party (ZhK) Tigran Karapetyan, who was running under the majoritarian system from Constituency No 17.
"They bribed everyone, without exclusion," he stressed.
Karapetyan's challenger at the constituency was Republican Karine Poghosyan, a relative of former parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan.
Poghosyan is said to have received 26 000 votes while the ZhK leader 7000 votes.
"I even lost in the village where I had done a lot of work. It means that the 33 silver opened every door," said Mr. Karapetyan.
The ZhK leader is not going to dispute the election results, nor is he going to organize street protests.
"I want to rest a little. I have not gone anywhere for ten years and now I need a good rest. I shall decide my future steps later," he said.
Tigran Karapetyan said he will be back in time to participate in the 2013 presidential elections though he did not specify the date for his return.
