"The print press is not providing coverage, but advocating," said expert of the Armenian Association for Public Relations Armen Minasyan as he touched upon the results of print press monitoring.
He said there was a 10% increase in the number of articles about the election campaign, meaning that the media actively participated in providing coverage of the elections. Eighty-nine percent of the articles were related to the main electoral process.
Most of the articles were commentaries and analyses by journalists, overtly or covertly negative articles (without commentaries-34% and with negative commentaries-37%).
In the past two months, the media mostly touched upon the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) with 2,616 articles, Prosperous Armenia Party(BHK) with 1,524 articles, the Armenian National Congress (HAK) with 1,485 articles, and in all cases there were mostly negative and neutral articles. We add that the recording of negative facts without the journalist's interference isn't viewed as anti-propaganda.
