Armenian Catholicos issues congratulatory message
His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued a congratulatory message on the Victory and Peace day.
"On May 9, we took victory over fascism, evil and hatred. The holiday fills the heart of each Armenian with double joy, because Shushi, the heart of our native Artsakh], was liberated twenty years ago on this day. The liberation of Shushi became a crucial step in the triumphant struggle to defend the right for liberty and self-determination of our Artsakh Armenians. The day was written with gold letters in modern-day history.
Today, we remember with admiration our brave sons who sacrificed their lives for their Motherland in the years of the Great Patriotic and Artsakh War. Let the Almighty bring peace to their souls, bless Armenia, Artsakh and world spread Armenians."
