Ter-Petrosyan drops mandate
Levon Ter-Petrosyan is dropping his mandate.
"There would be meaning to my presence in parliament, if the Armenian National Congress formed a majority alone or with other opposition parties in the National Assembly, or if the Republican Party was no longer the majority," said Ter-Petrosyan.
Ter-Petrosyan added that in addition to that, according to the tradition established in the civilized world, it's improper for ex-presidents to be in parliament. However, he said he would continue the struggle.
"Dropping the mandate doesn't mean that I am preparing to leave politics," said Ter-Petrosyan, adding that Hrant Bagratyan would be his substitute in parliament.
