Leader of "Republic" Party Aram Sargsyan declared that today marked one of the most significant days for the Armenian people. It was the day of the liberation of Shushi, and on that occasion, he congratulated the members of the Volunteer Land Defenders' Union and its eternal leader, Vazgen Sargsyan.

In his speech, Aram Sargsyan said the Armenians were an interesting nation that managed to bring a wealthier Azerbaijan down to its knees and come out victorious and managed to overcome the effects of the natural disaster, that is, the 1988 earthquake in Spitak, but isn't able to do the same in peace. "We can't gather the men who won in the war and determine what kind of a country we want to build and what we're fighting for. We have to draw serious conclusions."

Sargsyan said he couldn't understand why a large sector of Armenian society prefers "candidates with money" over "candidates that are humane". "If it's only about distributing money, we have to steal to give as much as the authorities give, but we can't do that. We have to make sure that the society trusts the "candidates that are humane" more, and for that, the opposition still has a lot to do."
