Observers to give evaluation tomorrow
The group of observers led by Chair of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's Monitoring Committee De Donia Francos-Khaver visited polling stations 5/24 and 5/25 in the Arabkir district.
The polling stations are stationed at the school after Shirvanzade where there has always been uproar about electoral fraud during all the elections. When asked whether they had come here after an alarm, the leader of the observation group replied that they hadn't selected this polling station by chance because it was near their hotel.
The observers first talked to the heads of the electoral commission, specified the number of voters and the percentage of citizens that had already voted, and then held a briefing after staying at the polling station for 20 minutes.
The head of the Monitoring Committee presented the purpose of the mission and said the observers had been to 5-6 polling stations. He promised that the group would visit another two polling stations.
Tomorrow in the afternoon the OSCE PA Monitoring Committee will present its preliminary report. When asked whether visiting some polling stations for several minutes was sufficient to prepare an objective report, the head of the Monitoring Committee replied that this was about a report by 300 observers and that each of them presents what he or she saw and recorded at the polling station, after which it becomes possible to present a more or less objective report.
After the observers left polling station 5/24, a man found out that the name of his dead father hadn't been removed from the voter list.
Head of the electoral commission Bagrat Zatikyan simply suggested writing in the register that the given person was deceased, but the electoral commission head recorded the case in the register due to the voter's persistence and the presence of a camera.
