The more representatives the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) has in the National Assembly, the better for the legislative body, leader of the People's Party of Armenia (HZhK) Stepan Demichtyan said while summing up the four-week election campaign in Armenia.

The HZhK leader is confident that the opposition alliance will have a weighty representation parliament.
"I am not speaking about 5, 6 or 7 percent of representation. I am speaking of serious figures. This is what people expect from the HAK," he said.

Stepan Demichtyan says on May 6 people will vote for the HAK in order to ‘get rid of the ruling regime and form a government which will be able to alleviate their numerous concerns.'
Unlike the coalition forces, HAK has never forced people to attend their campaign meetings, the HZhK leader stressed.

"Moreover, we witnessed the opposite picture. Though people were warned against attending our campaign rallies, the number of rally participants continually increased during the meetings," he said.

The opposition representative says he would like to believe the authorities' pledges to conduct free and fair elections but the reality speaks of the reverse scenario.
"The entire state machinery is involved in election fraud in an attempt to provide the re-election of the acting authorities," he said.

In the end, Stepan Demichtyan said he did not see any intrigue in the interview of Armenian second president Robert Kocharyan given to Mediamax news agency.
