The U.S. has great expectations from the parliamentary elections in Armenia and supports Armenia in this process by different ways. We support the Armenian government and law-enforcement authorities, we also work with non-governmental organizations and media services to exclude biased publications, Eric Rubin, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, told The Voice of America.

Asked which political parties in Armenia the U.S. would give its preference to, the official said, "The objective is to reflect the will of Armenian people, rather than that of political parties."

"The U.S. believes Armenian President's assurances to conduct the best elections in the history of independent Armenia. We want to see whether these assurances are grounded or not," said Mr Eric Rubin.
