HHK says it supports Tsarukyan’s candidacy
Serzh Sargsyan today held pre-election meetings with residents of Kotayk and Gegharkunik provinces.
When addressing the residents of Abovyan city, the country's leader said in part, "The Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) is a conservative party. We strive to create a society, which has a stable system of values and is guided by clear-cut principles. The first important thing for us is to ensure safety and security for our people. We can forget about anything else if we fail to provide this security and safety.
"People should feel safe at their homes, in the street and at workplaces. They should feel protected both physically and legally. We are resolute to do it and we are already improving the existing mechanisms. We are carrying out a number of reforms in the judicial system which aims to protect human rights.
"Dear compatriots,
I understand that the struggle is tense in Kotayk province and people have already decided which force to vote for during the Sunday vote. Anyway, I urge you to vote according to your conscience. Naturally, I am here to call on you to vote for the HHK. We have already gained enough experience and are confident that it [experience] will enable us to work more efficiently and fruitfully in the next five years. When I tell you to vote for our candidates, I mean HHK candidates running for parliament under the proportional and majoritarian tickets," said Serzh Sargsyan.
He added that the HHK is going to support its coalition partners at those polling stations where the party has not named candidates.
"In this polling station, we are going to support Mr Gagik Tsarukyan, Leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK)," Serzh Sargsyan said urging the presentees to vote for him.
Gagik Tsarukyan is the only candidate in electoral district 28.
