Democratic Party to also hold rally

Politics

Leader of the Democratic Party of Armenia Aram Sargsyan says its objective will be to keep the votes that it might receive during the May 6 parliamentary elections.

The Democratic Party of Armenia held a wide-format working meeting today to discuss its plans during the last week ahead of the elections and to solve several organizational issues. The Democratic Party will be going from door to door with the purpose of meeting with undecided voters.

The leader of the party says the latest surveys have shown that the Democratic Party can garner more than 5% of the votes in the May 6 elections.

During the election campaign, the party managed to tour 7 regions and found out that "unfortunately, there are villages where the people are simply under the pressure of governors and village heads".

Even though the Democratic Party has refrained from holding mass events, it has scheduled a rally to sum up the election campaign on May 4.
